Riots in Harehills on July 18, 2024 saw a police car overturned and a bus set on fire.
On Tuesday, West Yorkshire Police announced that a 12-year-old boy had been charged with violent disorder.
The boy, who cannot be named because of his age, was due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.
Police said more than 40 people had been arrested, 15 charged and five sentenced following the riot.
A police spokesperson said: “West Yorkshire Police continues to carry out extensive investigations into the violence of July 18 and 19, which caused significant distress to residents in the Harehills area.”
“Officers made significant use of all technological tools available to the force, including the use of CCTV and facial recognition technology.”
