Savannah Andredo's hat-trick, along with doubles from Tamjin Lenov and new signature Jazz Rampton and Tara Moxon, supported Valkyrie in a 54-6 defeat of the 54-6 women's Championship Side Featherstone on her return to LNER Community Stadium.
But it wasn't an error-free performance, and sometimes it was far from the high standards York has set himself over recent seasons.

“I'm clearly really happy with the victory,” Anfield said full-time. “But it is probably not, just like we played last week.
“Our mentality is slightly off today and there were too many errors for our tastes, but the cup victory I guess was won.”
Valkyrie launched their cup campaign last weekend with a 56-0 thrashing for Huddersfield, but they needed a much improved second half to work with each other and see themselves across the line towards the infrared featherstone side.
In particular, Anfield was disappointed to see halfback Liv Grace try out for visitors with a close range dart for the line.
Asked what had changed in the second half, she explained:
“We previewed the FEVs and knew what they were. One thing we were talking about all week was Liv Grace near the Tri-Line, and we got a Liv Grace score on Try-Line, which was pretty frustrating today.
“But nonetheless, the girls all own it and they are responsible for how they play and know that, so we'll move on from that.”
Izzy Bibby (center) made his debut, was one of Valkyrie's scorers. (Image: Craig Hawkhead's photo) It was an exhibition that allowed offseason signatures Ellie Williamson, Lampton, Moxon and Izzy Bibby all to go beyond the White Wash and was another encouragement from the club's new recruits.
“Jaz Rampton, she played last week. It was her third match in rugby league. Today was her fourth match in rugby league and she tried several more times.
“It was Izzy Bibby's first game for us at Hooker. Again she really did work out. Tara Moxon, she's never played in the second row before, so it was new.
“This year, there are new faces in the entire team and they're sleeping on time, but when there are as many errors as today, it's very frustrating. It's not great for the fans or the audience either.”
