Bedale police officers received a call on Friday, February 21st from an electrical supplier who raised concerns about irregular electricity usage on Bedale's premises after the localized outage.
Officers attended the address of Jubilee Road in Aiskew. Upon their arrival, two residents ran from the area and police helicopters were scrambled to assist in the search.
After a while, they detained two runners who were arrested on suspicion of concern about the supply of the class – B Drugs.
The man in his 30s is believed to be acting as part of an organized crime group based in the Western Balkan region of Europe. They have since been charged with cannabis production and are scheduled to appear in court.
On the premises, officers said they discovered a large, highly specialized, sophisticated cannabis farm with thousands of plants spreading across several growing areas.

Principal Teresa Lamb, regional commander for Hambleton and Richmondshire, said: Class A drugs such as cocaine and heroin.
“There are significant health and safety concerns associated with such organized growth that can cause a variety of issues, including electrical outages reported to us.
“I am grateful to the electrical supplier for providing information. We will continue to appeal to our landlords and have our agents and more public report suspicious activity.”
A North Yorkshire police spokesman said he believes the farm was used by organized crime gangs and produced several crops with street values ranging from 395,000 to 494,000 pounds, with estimated street value.
