Ian Westerman, who lives in a block of six flats in Woodsley Fold, Thornton, is frustrated that his building management company is inspired by Property Management (IPM) Ltd.
“Westerman, who works as a software engineer in the IT sector,” said:
“I have been living on this block of flats since September 2019.
“For five and a half years, I have been working from home for most of the time.
“My internet connection often drops, so if I'm in a meeting at work, I have to scramble to try and sort it. This will affect my work as a software engineer.”
“I've seen a variety of solutions and are talking to different internet providers who can't provide better speeds because of their internet connection.

“I pay my mortgage on a flat, but the building is run by a property management company.
“I fear that my only option is to move around, and that's not what I want to move.
“I'm just irritated by the situation.
“I put it in my area,” Westerman said. “I live in a quiet village. If I were living in the city centre, I think that would be different.”
Westerman explained that his building has six flats along with residents who benefit from high internet connection speeds.
Westerman explained:
“They don't provide answers to solve the problem. I'm getting the load block and red tape.
“I'm a bit stuck and I'm caught between the rock and the hard part. It's very frustrating.”
A spokesman for IPM Limited said:
“The supplier contractor was present to prepare the quote and it was confirmed that they had confirmed that surface mounted cables were installed throughout the block in the communal corridors and stairwells to serve this one apartment.
“The joint areas are shared and such work requires consent from the freeholder.”
