The Sweet Center, 106 Lamb Lane, Manningham, celebrated its diamond anniversary yesterday.
To celebrate this milestone, the restaurant has reduced its entire menu for the day by 50%.
Coach Haroon Habib said: “There was a really great reaction.
“Customers lined up at 7:30 a.m. and the shutters opened at 8 a.m.
“The line just kept getting longer and longer and went all the way around Bowland Street.
“We were able to cope with this situation because of our thorough preparations, and our amazing team of staff did a really great job.
“After 5 p.m., after the entire store was empty, we had a small prayer ceremony and cake cutting with local MP Naz Shah.”
The Sweet Center was one of the first cafes to bring traditional Asian sweets and snacks to Bradford.
It is the oldest Asian-owned business in the city and has always been based on Lambrun Lane.
Habib added: “There aren't many places that still have 60 years of heritage.
“It’s a proud moment for us.
“We are grateful to our community for supporting us over the years.”
