The rear window of the Audi A4 was destroyed all night between Sunday (March 23) and Monday in the parking lot of the Hedley House Hotel on Busham Terrace, North Yorkshire police said.
Makita Power Tools has been added as being stolen from inside the car.
Officers urge people to contact them who see the incident.
“If you have footage of a CCTV, a doorbell, or dashcam, or if you see or hear anything suspicious, contact colin.irvine@northyorkshire.police.uk,” a police spokesperson said.
“Alternatively, you can call North Yorkshire Police on 101 to ask for Colin Irvine, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on the website.
