County police said the damage was caused by a missile thrown at a property in Byram, near Selby.
A police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses and information as damage was caused to property in Byram.”
“The incident occurred at approximately 5.40pm on Friday, January 10, when the suspects entered the rear garden of a property on Sandringham Road.
“They threw a brick through a bedroom window, tried to throw a brick through another window, and tried to pull the patio door off its hinges.
“Nearby surveillance cameras showed the two perpetrators leaving the scene.
“The resident was at home at the time of the incident.
