North Yorkshire Police have released CCTV footage that appears to be chased by 35-year-old Greg Marshall and Jason Daniel Rhodes, 33, wielding a knife near Roche Avenue on Huntington Road.
Franklin, 34, of Roche Avenue, served a minimum of 21 years in prison for Marshall's murder at Leeds Crown Court today (Monday, April 14th).
Marshall's widow, Michelle Marshall, told the court that her family was “torn apart” by the murder.
After an eight-week trial, the ju judge found Franklin guilty of killing Mr. Marshall, wounding Rhodes and carrying a knife in public.
He denied all charges and claimed he was acting in self-defense.
Ian James Franklin (Image: North Yorkshire Police) Rhodes, 33, without an amended address, pleaded guilty to carrying a blade in a public place and was jailed for 55 weeks on April 2.
Following the hearing, Detective Rebecca Prentiss, a major investigative team at North Yorkshire Police, said:
“This is a brutal and pointless crime and I hope that the consequences will provide some degree of closure to those affected.”
