Natalie Caton, from Tuckley, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was just 13 years old.
Sadly, she passed away due to complications related to diabetes, just days after turning 40 in October 2019.
Over the summer, almost five years after her death, Natalie's loved ones held a fundraiser in her memory at the Idol Cricket Club.
The family confirmed this week that the event had raised a total of £2,775. The money was split between Diabetes UK and Bradford Royal Infirmary to help support Natalie's care.
Natalie's sister Alex said the fundraiser was “a real success”.
She was joined by local businesses who attended, donated and contributed on the day, including Spanish Supply, Sweet Dreams, Out of the Blue and the Bradford Brathay Trust, who donated a toy stall. He expressed his gratitude to everyone.
Speaking to the Telegraph & Argus before the event, Alex said: 'I'm so sad to see Natalie go. It's a shame for all of us.
“We will remember her very fondly.
“Natalie was very funny, kind and sociable.”
“We loved Natalie,” her mother Lynn added.
“Losing her was incredibly difficult.”
