William, 15, was last seen at his home in the Selby area at 3.30pm yesterday (Thursday, December 5).
North Yorkshire Police said the man was described as a white male, of slim build, 5ft 10in tall, with short brown hair that was shaved on the sides. He was wearing a gray/black Zavetti Canada coat with brown fur around the hood, black sweatshirts, and possibly a black balaclava and blue gloves.
The force appealed for anyone with information about William's whereabouts to get in touch.
