Singer-songwriter and pianist Elio Pace and his band The Billy Joel Songbook will visit 19 venues over September and October next year, including a performance at York's Barbican on Wednesday October 15th. It's planned.
Elio Pace was invited to act as “Billy Joel's Successor'' in 2013 and 2014, and performed in five reunion concerts in the United States with Joel's touring band from 1971 to 1972.
The 2025 tour will feature 50 years worth of hits, including singles “The Longest Time,” “She's Always a Woman,” “Uptown Girl” and “Tell Her About It.” will be covered in “Billy Joel Songbook.''
The late Sir Terry Wogan described Pace as “just sensational”, and in 2010 he was music director for BBC Radio 2's Weekend Wogan, appearing as a featured artist on all 35 programs broadcast that year. .
Pace has also performed with Brian May, Huey Lewis, Glen Campbell, Gilbert O'Sullivan, Lulu, Mike Rutherford, Don McLean, Tom Chaplin, Debbie Reynolds, and Martha Reeves.
“We all feel honored every time we step on stage to perform Billy Joel's music,” Pace said.
“His music is timeless, he is a genius composer and, in my opinion, the greatest singer/songwriter of all time.
“The fact that so many people want to see us perform is very humbling.”
A special recording of the Billy Joel Songbook show at London's Bloomsbury Theater, recorded on Joel's 75th birthday, was broadcast on BBC Sounds earlier this year.
