English Touring Opera brings lost forests to the Acom Library.
Set in Shakespeare's Arden Forest, a family-friendly performance picks up after the events of a midsummer night's dream, teams up with a pack of fairies and Kathy and Myrus (children of Duke Theseus and Queen's children) , I'll save you. The magic of the land is disappearing in the forests from deforestation.
The opera mixes Shakespeare's characters with songs, puppetry and environmental messages.
This is the third final article in the English Tour Opera Climate Change Trilogy.

The first two installments were Wish Gather and Great Stink, who won Best Opera at Yamaward 2024.
The Elimination of the Forest is written by Jonathan Ainskoff, composed by Michael Bettage and directed by Victoria Briggs.
It is aimed at children ages 7 to 11, and is designed to make the opera accessible, fun and absorbed by a younger audience.
The organizers said: “Whether you're a Shakespeare buff or something entirely new to the opera world, this show is a great way to showcase the magic of storytelling through music.”
Vanishing Forest will take place at the Acomb Library on Sunday, March 2nd at 11am.
