Bringing an international mix of flavours, artisanal products and family entertainment, the Scarborough Food and Drink Festival will take place on Saturday, April 12th and Sunday, April 13th at the town's open air theater.
The two-day free event featuring a stand of 50 people will offer everything from Yorkshire crumble and artisan cheese to locally crafted spirits and sweet sweet treats.
Joe Ireland, assistant director of culture and leisure at North Yorkshire Council, said:

“By holding festivals at open air theaters, we are creating a platform for local and national traders, attracting more visitors and enhancing Scarborough's reputation as a must-see destination.”
Some of the traders participating in the festival are Croft Chocolate, based in town and run by Alex Grant and his mother, Sheila.
She said: “Local events are key to reaching new customers and staying connected to our community. Since 2013, we've been making chocolates with love.
By attracting visitors early in the tourist season, the festival is expected to boost the local economy.
Last year, the Scarborough Open Air Theatre generated £8.5 million for the town's economic benefits. The new event aims to build its success by expanding the programme to months off-peak and raising even more interest in traditional seaside towns.
North Yorkshire Council added that the tourism sector itself has shown that it will provide an economic growth of £561 million annually to the Scarborough region, attracting 3.8 million visitors per year and supporting more than 5,600 jobs.
The new event also complements the Filey Food Festival, which returned this year with events on April 19th and 20th, June 7th and 8th, August 9th and 10th, and October 11th and 12th.
