North Yorkshire police are suing information and have released CCTV footage of the man they want to talk about after Fountains Abbey near Ripon was targeted by Vandals late Sunday night.
The incident occurred at 11:30pm on Sunday, February 16th, resulting in graffiti being painted on both the monastery on the Grade I List Site and the Church of St. Mary.

This can cause considerable damage as the paint is oil-based and is applied to medieval plaster work.
Police are currently trying to identify the man depicted in the CCTV footage as they may have information to assist in the investigation.
“This is a gruesome act of vandalism on a world-famous heritage. North Yorkshire Police do not tolerate these types of conduct. Justice,” said Sergeant Danny Copperwhaute of the North Yorkshire Police Neighborhood Police Team.
