Eight such 'place-based pioneers' will operate with the support of relevant local authorities (including the Mayors' Union Authority, London and Welsh Government).
The news comes as the government has also published a Get Britain Working White Paper, which mentions “£125m of funding in 2025/26” for eight pioneering companies. .
“Pioneers will test new interventions and increase engagement with local populations outside the workforce,” the white paper says.
“(…) They will all have a set of agreed outcomes, shared governance, and a robust assessment and learning commitment.”

Apart from the economic inactivity pioneer scheme, eight 'place-based youth guarantee pioneers' are also planned.
