The 60-year-old actor, best known for playing police officer Catherine Cawood, will star in a new advert for Yorkshire Tea.
The one-minute video, released on Wednesday, shows Ms Lancashire tasked with uncovering the perpetrators of a biscuit theft at the tea brand's headquarters.
Her no-nonsense interrogation style, reminiscent of the two-time BAFTA-winning character, helps her solve cases.
The ad ends with a voiceover saying: “Yorkshire tea with everything done right.”
Commenting on his role, Ms Lancashire said: “I'm thrilled to be joining the Yorkshire Tea family and spearheading the investigation into who stole Pat's Biscuits.”
She added, “I won't reveal who the guilty parties were, but they were worthy adversaries.”
“See the ad to find out.”
This light-hearted ad is part of the “Where Everything's Right'' campaign, which has been running since 2017.
It centers around office politics and the popular pairing of tea and biscuits.
The campaign has previously featured actors Sean Bean and Sir Patrick Stewart in separate storylines.
The new ad will be shown on UK TV channels, streaming platforms Netflix and Amazon Prime, and cinemas.
According to Statista, Yorkshire Tea is one of the UK's most popular tea brands, along with PG Tips, Tetley, Twinings and Typhoo.
The brand is known for its commitment to making tea 'the right way' and its Yorkshire roots.
