The incident happened at Toni and Guy's in Harrogate at around 7.45pm last night (Wednesday, January 15).
North Yorkshire Police said a man broke into a property on Princes Street and stole a coffee machine and an iPad.
The force is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
A spokesperson said: “We are appealing for information from anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have witnessed the incident.”
