The Harvester restaurant in Stirling Road, Clifton Moor, has officially closed its doors.
The salad and grill style restaurant, which opened in July 2012, has brought about 50 jobs to the area. Owned by Mitchells & Butlers, the company has reported slowing sales growth this financial year.
Mitchells & Butlers said like-for-like sales were up 2.5% so far this year compared to the latest quarter of the year, up 3.4% the quarter before that and 6.1% the quarter before that.
The owners of Harvester, which also owns All Bar One, Toby Carberry and Miller & Carter, said this was due to a “gradual easing of the inflationary environment and an unseasonably cool and wet summer period”. .
Due to the closure of the Clifton Moor site, the site of the former Frankie & Benny's is now a vacant building in the car park near the Vieux Cinema. Caramba Steakhouse and Bella Italia remain open at the same location.
