The Josh Stones were selected as his replacement in the starting 11 after club top scorer Ollie Pierce put a one-game break in a 3-0 victory over Walking last Saturday.
The Stones got the opportunity with both hands and scored a hat trick to help Hinshelwood's side overcome Neil Ardley's inform walking.
He had a highlighted half boree within the area, but he doubled the tally when he finished Alex Hunt's through-ball.
The Stones hat-trick and afternoon were completed when he rose to the highest level to return to his hometown from the right.
Pierce is currently offering one game suspension for the red card that lasted against Dargenham and Red Bridge a week ago, and again ahead of Saturday's trip to League Ebs Fleet United (3pm). You can now choose.
Hinshelwood is currently facing a very challenging question as to whether to return Pierce to starting 11 or whether to keep the stone in advance after his hat trick.
The boss thought about it. “I think that's difficult. You obviously got one of the top scorers in the league, then the youngster who just got a hat-trick.
“It's a difficult decision, but it's what you want.
“We definitely get it. We've seen it in training, and the two young people we've lended out, Junior (Luamba) and Lewis (Richardson), were there. I'm training brilliantly this week.
I recommend reading:
“All of a sudden, we are looking at them and there is some intense competition within the team.
“Jeff King trained brilliantly. Ryan Fallowfield is always well trained, just like the goalkeeper. You'll always see world save pulls.
“There is real competition and that is exactly how you want it and push each other.
“The toughest game of the week is always the ones where they're inside themselves and we're definitely reaching very good standards.”
The Stones hat-trick obviously left a smile on his face. Hinshelwood is happy to “beaming” his striker after breaking the duck for the club.
Hinshelwood also expects to have a conversation with either the Pierce or the Stones, depending on whether he chose to leave one of the two on the bench on Saturday.
“He's shining around the place, and I'm happy to see that,” continued Hinshelwood.
“Every young man coming into a new group wants to settle for them, he is brought in to score goals.
“He has three now and he is really pleased.
“There is really good unity throughout the group, the young people are training hard and they seem to be doing well.
“I just love having those conversations and it made me feel frustrated because Ryan Followfield didn't get on the pitch.
“I pulled him and talked about my decisions, and at the same time he trained brilliantly and is an important member of this team.
“It's part of the job you feel when you need to talk to people and when you need to let them down.
“I'm trying to be honest and have an open conversation with all the players, so there's definitely one of these two and the conversation I need.
“I need to be open and honest. As a player, it's always been merely treated. I'm trying to put that into my management style.”
The city will make a trip to Ebbsfleet on Saturday and the club will be staying and training at the Dartford facility with a match against Barnett in mind the following Tuesday.
Hinshelwood therefore brings bigger teams south, creating opportunities for Billy Chadwick and Paddy McLaughlin.
“It's probably going to be over 20 players, 21, 22. York Gaffer will confirm that today, but it's a team of 21, 22,” York Gaffer confirmed.
“We don't bring everyone together and turn the stones over. If there are three or four injuries, the player is ready.
“They have a little time for themselves and a little time for us all to come together. Hopefully, on Sunday evening we'll get together and watch more football.

“It gives them the opportunity to rest their bodies and recover, do everything to be ready and have no excuses on Tuesday.
“We have the last team Billy Chadwick, Ollie Pierce, so that's going to take up to 20.
“We have rice fields, and that's all we have on the team at the moment. Perhaps young young people on the young team and some young young people have reached some time. .”
However, the next two games will not travel south.
“I think this weekend is a little too early.
“He will probably train at the end of next week, and he will need a good week of training first, so he will probably be a few weeks away.”
