The directors of X-ON Health Max Gattlin and AI technology experts are the driving force behind surgical support, a pioneering system that is revolutionizing the patient/practicing experience, and AI is at the heart of the system.
More than two-thirds of patients who contact GP practice via the phone, rather than other channels such as the NHS app, will be featured in thousands of hours when the GP reception team handles the phone, if AI-enhanced surgical assistance can put the power to “return to the patient's hands” on AI-enhanced surgical assistance.
“That's what I'm most passionate about,” Gatlin said.
Max added:
The average size GP practice receives 10,000 calls per month in an area, with X% of the first calls in the morning queued for many. Lots of waiting times, missed calls, lost plans.
“Today's GP practices offer the same range of health services as physical therapists, nutritionists, mental health practitioners and occupational therapists.
“It could be a simple case of organizing repeated prescriptions. Surgery AI development can ensure patients have access to the correct service without having to be placed in a typical catch-all queuing system.”
X-on Health has already advised clients to take the first approach of “bots” where AI assistants capture, manage and redirect up to 40% of demand to non-GP services such as community services, PCN services, and self-service.
For Max Gatlin, it's very satisfying to witness the assistance of surgical help bring practice and ease the log jam at 8am, but one of the AI features he is particularly proud of is the language skills of surgical assistance!
“Surgery assist can be identified in 60 languages and “reverse.” This is a real-time saver for practice, giving patients an incredibly empowering and reassuring. ”
Max asserts that patients should not be threatened by AI. For Gattlin, patient empowerment means providing patients with self-service to AI to suit their non-urgent needs.
“This will free clinicians with a focus on more complex preventive care. If they can remove demand before it flows into practice, the burden will be eased quickly,” Max added.
