The panels are part of the Minister's Neighborhood Plan and are expected to generate 70,000 kWh of energy each year, meeting a third of the Minister's electricity needs.
Engineering firm Ellis Patents provided the cable cleats for this project.
Cleats securely contain electrical cables and protect them from potential short circuits.
The project is being managed by Associated Clean Technologies and was described by Alex McCallion, York Minster's works and branch director, as a “major step forward in our decarbonisation journey”.
Lyllington-based Ellis Patent has been associated with York Minster for several years.
The connection began when the company's chairman, Richard Shaw, became a director and later chairman of the York Minster Foundation.
Since then, Ellis Patent has supported a variety of campaigns including York Minster's Christmas Tree Festival. At this festival, Ellis Patent employees gather each year to decorate the Ellis Patent-sponsored tree that will be on display during Advent.
