Ice yellow weather warnings are in place in parts of Yorkshire.
The warning set up by Met Office will take effect at 3am on Thursday, March 13th and will continue until 9am. It covers parts of Yorkshire, including parts of Bradford, Huddersfield, Leeds, Sheffield, Harrogate and West Doncaster.
According to Met Office, it could be a winter shower, and combined with temperatures close to zero leads to an icy surface. They are warning people to expect icy patches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths. This involves the risk of injuries and accidents.

To stay safe, you need to plan to leave the house at least five minutes earlier than usual, reducing the likelihood of needing in a hurry, thereby reducing the chances of an accident. Also, if you are walking, you will need to try to use pavement along the main roads. This is because these are unlikely to be slippery.
If you are cycling, you need to do the same thing. Additionally, they try to avoid delays by checking road conditions before travelling and checking bus and train timetables.
The Met Office said:
“The clear spells in between will allow temperatures to approach zero, and will not change tonight, first Thursday, especially in the Pennine and Peak districts.”
