This year, Barnby Hall Gardens in Pocklington has launched a new Christmas event, 'Illuminations'. The garden is beautifully illuminated on the promenade that goes clockwise around the central lake.
Illuminate is a magical nighttime lighting event set in the beautiful Barnby Hall Gardens from 29th November to 21st December 2024.
My favorite spot is when the entire bridge is covered in lights. Although you cannot walk across the bridge, it is a great spot for Christmas photos.
We visited during the press preview and it was so cold that the lake was frozen. There's no winter wonderland like a frozen lake.
Expect the trail to take about 1.5 to 2 hours (even less if you have small children running in front of you).
At the end of the trail there is a marquee offering hot drinks, baked potatoes, soups and cakes. I'll post some pictures below so you can check the contents and prices.
