The York Community Choir Festival, held at the Joseph Lauterly Theatre, is celebrating a record year of ticket sales course, according to Graham Mitchell's chairman.
The media followed the soundcheck ahead of the four-person choir this afternoon's Matinee performance (March 8th);

“There was a bit of a disco scene on stage last night. The choirs were moving around the stage and dancing. Some had shining costumes.”
Chairs have been chosen from a 25-mile radius in York and many of the performers selected for the ever-registered festival, said it would be a good thing to have the opportunity to perform in a theatrical setting.
The festival includes 75 students from Huntington School and 50 students from schools across the Excel Learning Trust Academy.
Choirs of all sizes and types appear on the stage. The repertoire covers everything from pop classics and show tunes to blues, jazz, world music, classics and religion.
Nicola Betts, who leads three choirs today out of the more than 1,250 singers participating in the festival, said each law selects around 20 numbers from its repertoire, begins rehearsals in the new year and continues until the start of the festival in March.

On the afternoon stage before 2:30pm, passing the soundcheck was a celebratory singer in York.
“We are pleased to announce that we are a member of the committee,” said Paul Brenkiron, a member of the committee.
“We raised over £7,000, but all the money goes back to the theatre maintenance.
“The choir loves it, and they have the opportunity to perform in front of their peers.
“We are also proud of the fact that we put it all together by volunteers, from the sound desk to the committee.”
Theatre's 90th anniversary – and on the 100th anniversary, Graham Mitchell left his farewell words in the legacy of Sheebomb Lown Tree – he thought he had welcomed the idea of the Yosef Lone Tory Theater, made in a place made in the theater of the Yosef Lone Tory Theater.
