Joshua James Richardson, from near Broxa in Scarborough, was arrested and taken into custody after two counts of appeal by the force.
The 23-year-old has been sought for several weeks in connection with a domestic violence incident.
Principal Rachel Wood, commander of Scarborough, thanked the public.
She said:
“Even if you refuse to hand over yourself, the problem doesn't just go away. We'll continue our search as long as it's necessary.
“As this case shows, there's only one way it can end…and it involves a custody cell.
