With support from the North Yorkshire Council, Big Community Switch is designed to help residents improve their energy costs and find better energy deals.
The 12-month fixed-rate tariff provides 100% renewable electricity and supports the Council's “commitment to sustainability.”
Given the current volatile market for energy suppliers, the registration and acceptance deadline was filed on Friday, April 11th.

An executive member of CLLR Simon Myers housing said:
“We offer free registration without any obligation to accept or not to accept the offer, which helps to make the process simple and stress-free.
“As the deadline is approaching, we are encouraging households to engage and utilize this opportunity.”
Since its launch in 2012, over 2.1 million people have registered interest in switching energy contracts on Big Community Switch.
The scheme is provided by Ichoosr, a company that helps household and local government sectors switch to sustainable energy products.
“We've seen a lot of money,” said George Frost, UK country manager at Ichoosr. “The Big Community Switch has a clear mission, helping households find better energy transactions easily and reduce the financial burden of high energy costs.
“Now is the best time for residents to take action, and the scheme offers a 12-month, fixed and competitive tariff to protect you from further rises in the energy market.
“Whether you're unhappy with your current provider or waiting for a more stable market, Big Community Switch is here to help, managing your energy costs more effectively.”
