Thirsk and Malton's Kevin Hollinrake MP are promoting competition as part of his wider campaign to “save our local.”
He said:
“As a former small business owner and as a business minister who I was responsible for the happiness of the pub, and most importantly, as someone who enjoys the local pints, I am proud to be able to launch the best Thirsk & Malton Pub competition.
“In Thirsk and Malton, the beer and pub sector directly supports over 3,000 jobs, nearly a third of whom are 16-24 years old. For many of these young employees, these are their first jobs and may play an important role in helping them begin their journey into the job market.”
Hollinrake added: “When you launch a campaign to stand up to your local pub, you will be able to help highlight the amazing locals who play an important role in creating this incredible constituency by asking you to vote for your favorite local pub.
The contest will be held today (Thursday, April 10th) until Monday, June 2nd, with a special recognition of the winners and runner-ups.
