The Bulls lost their fourth round tie 26-16, but they led twice and looked as good as the majority of the game's hosts.
Of course, Salford is in full-time attire, but Bradford is now part-time aspect, and that was clear towards the latter stage of the contest as the Red Devils pulled up Ante to kill the game.
Looking back at the biggest differences between the two, Gill said: I was so proud of the boys leaving that field and I am so happy to be able to play rugby with those guys.
“Today is a long shift and now I want to go home and sleep, but if I don't love it, I won't do this job.
“I love this club and I love everything about the sport, so I won't change that for the world.”
Gill added: “But you can feel the difference between part-time and full-time outfits, but you can't stop them from winning or losing a game. We always go out into that field to win.
“No matter what, we bring ourselves back to the mark.
“Of course, it's safe to say there's no difference between part-time and full-time teams, but at the same time, you can see that they (Salford) have not been grafted.
“But Salford has experienced problems in its own right and still has a solid performance, so I don't want to use it as an excuse at all.”
Gill was filled with praise as he looked back at his performance.
He said: “Sure. Be honest. You won't lose here (Salford) at the end of the day. Before the game, we thought there was an opportunity to cause upset.
“It's a shame how the game ended, but you can keep your head high.
“For 80 minutes, we have been a very dedicated team and have shown that we wanted to correct some mistakes since last week.
“Overall, I thought it was a huge effort from everyone from one to 17 to 17. And I'm really proud of the boy.”
Gill actually signed his first professional contract at Salford when he was 18, so trying it out on Friday night and putting the Bulls ahead in the second half was a full circle moment at the 29-year-old.
He admitted: “It was a 360 moment for me. I didn't get the chance to go through the ranks, but Salford gave it to me at 18 years old.
“Things didn't work out the way I wanted them to, but that made me who I am today and I am forever grateful.
“I have been in that field (AJ Bell Stadium) several times.
“Scoring points represents a great achievement, especially for all the Bradford fans behind the post, so that's great.
