I am a Bradfordian living in Boston, USA, and the Boston public works office mailed leaflets to every house in the city that informed me that garbage was being picked up one day each week. Collections rotate one day each week into each neighborhood.
With very few exceptions, household waste can be placed on the sidewalk and is collected on summer schedules such as car batteries, textiles, light bulbs, leaves, garden waste, and Christmas trees. There is also a “day-day waste drop-off.”
The “fly tip” when you call it is virtually nonexistent as everything is collected by the city.
Bradford Council may adopt this idea and solve the fly tip problem.
