The 21-year-old joins North Yorkshire after a tough season with French full-time side Toulouse Olympique, where he only made two appearances.
Walsh will be reunited at the Knights with head coach Mark Applegarth, who played in Wakefield Trinity's academy system before starting his studies at Newcastle University.
As a result, he moved to the North East and spent the 2023 season with Newcastle Thunder, playing in nine games, including at center in the Knights' 20-6 win at Kingston Park in August of that year.

The versatile back, who can also play on the wing, had previously signed with Hunslet, who are expected to win promotion to Ligue 1 in 2024, but was released after a two-month trial period with the aim of signing a full-time deal with Toulouse. .
He made his debut for the French team in a 40–4 win against Whitehaven in April and was the 18th player against Wakefield the following week, but struggled for game time and was substituted for the second half of the season. He spent part of the season on loan to Whitehaven. .
Walsh made seven appearances for the Cumbrians, including the win over York in September, and was also on the scoresheet in the win over Dewsbury.
Applegarth is confident the youngster will be able to do his best and get back into form with the Knights, saying:
“This gives us a little more depth in the wing and center positions.
“He’s a player I used to coach at Wakefield in the academy. Things didn’t go well for him last year, he didn’t play much.
“He wants his chance so if he trains hard and gives his all, he will definitely get it at York.
“We are happy to have him and look forward to working with him again.”
The Knights will begin the 2025 season against Hull KR in the first Amsterdam Challenge on January 25th, before facing Keighley Cougars in the second round of the Challenge Cup on February 2nd.
