Around 120 stalls selling all kinds of food, from locally made pasta and spirits to hot sauce, Scotch eggs and macarons, warmly welcomed visitors to the event.
Mark Brayshaw from event organiser, Visit Malton, said: “It was a fantastic weekend, with many of our favorite stallholders returning, as well as quite a few new faces, with food to truly suit every palate. “We were providing that,” he said.
“The sun unexpectedly shone all weekend long as visitors strolled the Market Place and surrounding streets. The marquee was decorated with Benoît Brin of Bake Off: The Professional and MasterChef Award winner. It was a packed house with many cooking demonstrations, including Mr. Eddie Scott.
Dishes prepared included Eddie's French-Indian fusion banana split and Benoit's zesty lemon and grapefruit duckies. The pair went on to meet fans and sign copies of their latest book just outside Kemp Books.
While adults enjoy sampling food from the festival's vast array of stalls, young visitors take part in arts and crafts activities and sculpture trails, while others enjoy funfair rides and the top of the Shambles. I enjoyed a certain bouncy castle.
Mark added: “This weekend once again demonstrated why Malton has a national reputation, not only for its food and drink, but also as a city of makers who display their craftsmanship at every turn. These events remind visitors of the wonderful warm welcome that Malton offers all year round, with many visitors enjoying the food stalls as well as the many shops, shops, and shops that give life to the town centre. Stop at bars and restaurants. ”
Mark said: “Moving the second Food Lovers Festival this year from August to October was also an incredibly smart move. “Many of us may remember the news footage of the damage, but it was a far cry from this weekend.” Warm autumn sunshine. ”
