The team at Specsavers Malton gathered this month to donate a box filled with 50 essential items for the charity.
Their donations included a variety of much-needed staples, including baby food, shower gel, pasta, soups and other essentials.
Rachel Patience, assistant manager at Specsavers Malton, said that spectacles first heard about Ryedale Community Foodbank from customers about food banks, and that many people have had an impact on the support they provide and the formation of the districts. He said he was grateful for the
She added: “Inspired by the dedication of the food bank volunteers, the staff at Specsavers Malton wanted us to be involved. So the team is so that residents don't go without the products they need or the products they need. We have pledged to make similar donations every three months to the company, facing an empty cupboard.
At 'Specsavers, customer care is at the heart of everything we do. We constantly emphasize the importance of a balanced diet for eye health to our customers, so by creating food bank parcels for the Ridare community, we are able to act and practice the words. I just felt it was right.
Rachel said: “Everyone deserves access to a meal they are proud of, and it's an important item that keeps people as toiletries and interesting. The reality is that many of us are more poverty than we think. It means it's close to the line, and it's why supporting the people around us is so important.
“It was great to see our entire team come together to contribute. We hope to include more important things in May, as our community needs. I'm already looking forward to my next donation.”
Foodbanks across the UK are now increasing demand for services as more individuals and families rely on them in 2025 for support.
Since opening in April 2022, volunteers at Ryedale Community Foodbank have provided nearly 9,000 at three hubs: Malton, Pickering and Kirkbymoorside, significantly increasing food insecurity.

“As the costs of essentials continue to rise, more and more families are finding themselves in need of support. Thankfully, we are continuing to provide that lifeline with community contributions like this. can.
“Every contribution can help, no matter how small. Check out the items you don't need in your cupboard, or add some essentials to your store to support another family in your area. Everything makes a difference.”
