Detective Inspector Ben Wood, of South Yorkshire Police, said the family of the man who was found dead had been informed and were being supported.
He added that a small cordon remains in place in parts of Maple Grove while the investigation continues.
“A number of officers will remain on scene today and potentially over the weekend to carry out further investigations and establish the circumstances behind this incident.”
Detective Inspector Wood also appealed for anyone with information or footage that could help the investigation to get in touch.
“If you can assist us in any way, please get in touch as any information, no matter how small, can be of great help to our investigation,” he said.
