A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man was found dead in a property in Doncaster, North Yorkshire.
South Yorkshire Police said officers were called to an address in Maple Grove, Conisbrough, at around 21:30pm Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) on Thursday.
A 64-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, a military spokesperson confirmed.
A 23-year-old man was later arrested by police on suspicion of murder at a hotel in York and remains in police custody.
Detective Inspector Ben Wood, of South Yorkshire Police, said the family of the man who was found dead had been informed and were being supported.
He added that a small cordon remains in place in parts of Maple Grove while the investigation continues.
“A number of officers will remain on scene today and potentially over the weekend to carry out further investigations and establish the circumstances behind this incident.”
Detective Inspector Wood also appealed for anyone with information or footage that could help the investigation to get in touch.
“If you can assist us in any way, please get in touch, as any information, no matter how small, can go a long way in helping our investigation,” he said.
