The vehicle counting Ford's electronic transport among rivals has raised the game since its first launch, thanks to improved safety, specifications and battery options.
First introduced in just 96 miles of electric range, Esprinter boasts up to 272 miles with the largest 113kWh battery option.
The tiny 81kWh battery offers up to 163 miles, but this is still pretty decent and certainly an improvement over the 2020 model. There are also two motor options, either 135 or 204ps.
Charging station esprinter The high quality feel and premium image of the previous Sprinter is highly proof across the vehicle, with the cabin sharing some of the quality found in Mercedes-Benz passenger cars.
The new suspension further improves the stability of the driving experience, but the power ensures that the vehicle is quiet and smooth. Certainly, when convention wisdom says that graphical diesel engines should provide a soundtrack, driving such a large vehicle on a steep hill nearby feels a bit surreal You can do it.
The vehicle is also well handled for the larger van and is aided by a cleverly weighted electric assist power steering.
Choose from three driving programs: maximum range, economy and comfort. This will adjust the engine power, torque and climate control to suit the driver's mood and requirements at the time. There are also automatic functions designed to read situations, which differ in how much charge it regains depending on the playback.
Especially in uphill conditions, there are four playback brake settings controlled via the steering wheel paddle to save as much of the range as possible. After a day or two behind the wheels of the Esprinter, I felt I had really mastered the resistance level of the playback brake. This means there is little need to use traditional brake pedals.
The vehicle has a decent electrical range There hasn't been any major changes when it comes to the cabin, but subtle tweaks improve the experience.
The updated Mbux touchscreen multimedia system is now integrated with smartphone mirroring over Bluetooth. The 10.25-inch color display is sharp and intuitive.
The driving position offers excellent all-around visibility. The 360-degree camera can also be used as part of a parking package for those seeking more support when piloting.
The interior has a premium feel
Range readings are reliable, but can vary depending on conditions such as temperature and driving habits.
The Esprinter can be charged with alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC) charging stations.
Fast charging of DC takes about 42 minutes to charge from 10-80%.
Spacious road space The payload differs based on the battery variant, with the 81kWh L3 314 and 320 models offering a minimum payload of 497kg, while the 81kWh 414 and 420 L2 Pro models offering the best payload of 1,273kg. Some models can also tow up to 2,000 kg.
As standard, the Esprinter features armrests, dual passenger seats, comfortable overhead control panel, full width partition, height, rake adjustable steering wheel, temperature air conditioner, wooden floor, mode 3 type 2 8 8 pieces Includes heating sheets for drivers – meter charging cable, headlight assistant, heat insert glass, 270 degree double wing rear end door. This van oozes out the quality, but comes with a large price tag. The Esprinter range is available from £58,740 based on the 81kWh 314 L3 Pro version, but when you climb the trim trail you'll find it at the top of £70,000 for the 113kWh 414 version. However, its prices may not be so banned as many purchases are likely to come through large fleet transactions with discounts.
