Kate Wright was blown off when he passed through the fruit bowl for the morning snack and found that one of the banana was twice the normal size.
Her husband, Harry Light, bought a lot of bananas at the Kendal Branch in Morrisons in Camburia that week, but did not notice the rare phenomenon surrounded by his shopping bag.
A school compliance officer said he had never seen strange fruits before, and said he chose to share bulky bananas the next day.
The 49 -year -old said he felt “blessed” for the huge snack to fall in her hands.
Kate Light was blown off on Saturday (February 1) passing through the fruit bowl for the morning snack and found that one of the banana was twice the normal size. (Image: Kennedy news and media) Kate from Kendal, Cambria states: “I went to the fruit bowl on Saturday morning and chose bananas for breakfast.
“It was like a thick banana in two sections in one skin, which was completely strange.
“I've never seen this kind of thing in 49 years. I didn't want two at a time, so I waited for our pudding until lunch on Sunday, and my husband. I had a heavy banana.
“I lowered it, and I was able to see two different bananas with one stem on one skin.
“My husband and my husband had it for lunch, and it didn't taste strange. It tasted like a normal banana, nothing unusual about it. It was.
“Some people say it's lucky. People say I should buy a lottery ticket, but I'm not really gambling.
“I feel very blessed that it has fallen in my hands. I think it's a really interesting discovery. It's not what you come across.”
It is thought that about 5 % of bananas will grow into double bananas, but most of them will be destroyed before hitting a supermarket shelf.
