Some customers have complained that their online orders have been canceled.
The supermarket said loyalty cards and click-and-collect orders are primarily affected.
A Morrisons spokesperson said: “We are experiencing some system issues this morning, primarily impacting some More Card discounts and Click and Collect orders. For More Card customers who redeem their cards, this will be done manually by colleagues in-store.” If you don't have a More Card price registered, we'll apply a 10% discount to your entire shop.
“For click and collect orders, we ask customers to wait until they receive an email to let them know their order is ready for collection before heading into store. Some home delivery orders arrive today We will contact affected customers directly as there may be delays.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to the Morrisons team.”
Social media users claim that discounts at the checkout are not working, with one person receiving an error message at the self-checkout saying: “We are sorry, but some promotions and discounts are not working at this time.” I posted a photo.
The Morrisons website also appears to be down, with some pages displaying a “502 Bad Gateway” error message.
Comments on Morrisons' Facebook page said that Christmas deliveries ordered a month ago had been cancelled.
“Half of my Christmas shopping hasn't arrived yet, including the turkey and pudding. They were ordered a month ago,” one person commented under a post with a discount ad.
Some say they're missing out on deep discounts in stores.
