Nesartle, a local theatre company, will be performing an Oscar-winning musical at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre in York.
The production is tied to many special anniversaries. It's 60 years since the film was released, and it's the 90th anniversary of the Huxby Road Theatre.
The story's nun is also played by members of Strensall and Huntington Wi, who are celebrating 100 years of 100 years.
And it's a particularly moving show for creative director Steve Tial. Steve Tial's first stage role was the sound of music when the 11-year-old played Boy Kurt on a professional tour of the show about 54 years ago.

Steve said: “Nezar takes pride in giving people the confidence to perform on stage of all ages, a great opportunity for over 20 people on a show they have never played before.
“While the story of the music doesn't need explanation, everyone creates a show with elements that they love, sticking to the West End trends of scaled backsets, we'll see the lighting effects that NE can highlight famous action.”
To refresh the mind, the music sounds are set in Austria 1938.
When Navy Captain Georg Fontrap (Matthew Clark/Chris Heryad) writes to Maria's Monastery, he asks for a governor who can handle seven naughty children (York productions boast three sets of talented children)
As a widow, Captain Von Trapp runs the home as strictly as the ship he sails.
The children are unhappy and responsive to the governor who he continued to hire and was able to run each one at a time.
When Maria arrives, she initially encounters the same hostility, but her kindness, understanding, and pleasure quickly attracts the children to her, bringing the joy needed in all life, including the captain.

Eventually he and Maria find themselves in love despite being already engaged to a barony territory named Elsa (Ali Butler Hind/Irene Hall), and Maria is still in the post office.
The romance begins to question the decisions they have made. But their personal conflict is quickly cast a shadow by events in the world. Austria is about to be placed under German control, and the captain may soon find himself drafted by the German Navy and forced to fight his country. This true story is based on the memoirs of the 1949 Maria Fontrap and the singers of the Fontrap family.
The Sound of Music, the hit musical that was still in 1965
Steve said: “I have always loved this show and I am always filled with joy, remembering my experiences. I am able to produce this famous musical 54 years ago and perform in my personal favorite role as Maximilian Die Towyler.”
Also pay attention to the members of the Surprise Cast – the dog Millie as Max's companion on the show.
The music will run from April 29th to May 3rd
