Despite recent weather improvements as it moves to March, forecasters warn that winter conditions could return to certain regions. Snow is expected in parts of England and Scotland in the next few days.
The WX Chart weather map shows snow falling in areas in northern England and northern Scotland on Wednesday, March 12th. Snowfall is predicted to begin at 3 PM I'll be reporting on Birmingham Live that day. Weather map shows snow in the Northumberland area of Durham, and Yorkshire.
Heavy snowfall is expected above the North Pennine, with a rate of up to 2cm per hour.
Similarly, the north part of Dundee in Scotland can experience up to 2.62cm of snow per hour.
Snow is expected to remain in northern England and northern Scotland until 12pm on Thursday, March 13th.
Separately, in its long-distance weather forecast from Wednesday, March 12th to Friday, March 21st, the Met Office said:
“This will bring in a northeastern wind with a mix of sunny spells and showers by mid-next week, and showers could be the most frequent north and east when snow falls on the hills.
“Through the end of the week and the next weekend, there are likely fines and dry conditions in many areas, but there are likely several showers along the coast.
“Temperatures will likely be below normal. Until the following week, periods of rain and strong winds will make conditions milder and more variable.”
