On his last visit to Prestige Group Stadium in January 2024, four supporters were arrested and three were charged after York lost the fixture 2-1.
This afternoon, ahead of the city's next visit, the two clubs shared a joint statement urging supporters to “represent the club in the right way.”
A variance order was imposed on the Prestige Group Stadium before the match. Officers were listed in the stadium, town centre, marinas and stations.
Police had warned that anti-social behavior could be imposed a soccer ban.
York supporters were escorted from Hartlepool Station to the stadium by a line of uniformed police officers.
However, Cleveland police confirmed nine supporters, eight of whom were in York and one had Hartlepool arrested.
The two arrested suspected they were drunk and disorderly.
One arrest was accused of possession of Pyro and/or Flair.
One arrest was suspected of attempting to enter a soccer stadium while he was drunk.
Another was arrested on suspicion of making homophobic comments.
Four other people were arrested at the station. For more information, contact the UK traffic police.
Police were also seen removing a group of supporters about 15 minutes after the match.
The match ended with York's 1-0 victory, with Ollie Pierce's 40-minute strike being the only difference in the afternoon.
Both York City and Hartlepool United have been asked to comment by the press.
