Yorkshire is set to be blown up with “rain, sleet, snow” as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning.
The snow and ice warning will go into effect from 6am on Saturday, February 15th, and will remain in effect until 2pm. The warning covers most of Yorkshire to the west, north and east, and covers breathing towns and cities such as Bradford, Harrogate, Malton, Scarborough, Redcar, Middlesboro and Driffield.
Even further away, the warning also covers much of Cumbria and the Northeast, including the Durham, News Castle and Northumberland regions. Yellow weather warnings indicate that the storm will be “medium and low impacts.”

A spokesman for the Met Office said, “Rain, sleet and snow are likely to occur early Saturday before mitigating from the west in the afternoon. It accumulates in North York's Moors and Northumberland. .
“At lower levels, you can have a hard time building up when snow falls, but in the afternoon you may see a place of up to 2cm before gradually mitigating, especially 200 meters, where freezing rain is possible. There is also the risk of ice above the pennines that exceed it.”
The Met Office warns that winter weather can cause traffic delays and make driving “dangerous” and encourages people to drive ahead and check for road closures before leaving. Ta. Pedestrians are urged to try to use pavement along major roads.
The spokesman said: “Snowy winter weather can cause delays and put driving conditions at risk. Planning routes will help you keep yourself and others safe and extra time for your journey Give me the following.
“Be prepared for fast changing weather warnings. If a weather warning is issued, Met Office recommends staying up to date with weather forecasts in your area.”
