A staff member who works at the Allerton Road bargain liquor post office was reportedly threatened with “weapons hidden in black bags” on Thursday afternoon.
Money was stolen during the ordeal, but no injuries were reported.
The detective issued an appeal to identify the person responsible as inquiries continue.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has the information to assist in the investigation will be asked to contact the Bradford District CID via 101 or online chat facilities.

That comes after a post office spokesman says “supporting the branch operator.”
Allerton Post Office is temporarily closed, with staff members “working hard to restore service as soon as possible.”
West Yorkshire Police Statement
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said:
“At just 3pm, police were called to the incident at the post office inside the bargain liquor.
“It was reported that a man had entered the store, threatened staff with weapons hidden in a black bag and stole money from the king.
“No one was injured.
“Bradford District CID detectives are making inquiries to identify the person responsible.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to assist in the investigation will be asked to contact the Bradford District CID, citing Crime Reference 13250071346.”
