The Esholt Post Office on Main Street was brought to the market by Ernest Wilson's business agents.
The quaint building is located in the heart of the village, once Emmerdale's home.
The soap was originally filmed in the village of Arncliffe in Ritondale, before coming to Esholt until 1998, when the filming moved to a dedicated set at Harewood Estate.
According to Ernest Wilson, three generations of the same family run the Esholt Post Office, which is described as “a beloved part of village life.”
It is looking for a offer of just under £40,000 for business, looking for “a like-minded buyer to continue and strengthen its important services” and “new talent to bring this post office into the 21st century.”
Ernest Wilson added to the website:
“The village attracts many tourists and the business is thriving with gifts.”
According to Ernest Wilson, the business has £600 sales per week, with postal service paying £22,000 a year.
Accommodation is included.
There is a lounge and then a bathroom combined with two bedrooms on the ground floor, with a garden and one garage.
Ernest Wilson said on his website:
“The property is held on a good lease, but the landlord has previously shown that he may be ready to sell his freehold some time ago.
“The facility consists of an Old World Sales store with a single position fortress counter and kitchen.
“I understand my current kitchen from clients who previously formed part of the retail area and have been able to do so again with a relatively small investment (which is subject to the necessary consent).”
