Poundland is set to be sold as it struggles with the “increasingly challenging” retail industry.
Several stores have been reported to be at risk of closure.
There is a fear that the 825 site could close the door after the budget retail giant hired advisory firm Teneo to oversee the sale of its business.
Bradford District Poundland Store
Currently, there are three poundlands in Bradford city centre alone. Broadway, Kilgate Shopping Centre and Four Star Square Retail Park.
There are also stores at Enterprise 5 Retail Park in Idol, Main Street in Cottingley and Airdale Shopping Centre in Kayley.
When Telegraph & Argus asked about Bradford District Stores, Pepco Group said it owns Poundland and is “actively investigating segregation options, including potential sales for the Poundland business.”
A Pepco Group spokesperson said: “As stated on Capital Markets Day, March 6, we are actively considering separating options, including potential sales for the Poundland business.
“We have begun working with our advisors to support us in this process.”
