The 98 UK regions face potential blackouts, disruptions and delays due to yellow weather warnings this Sunday.
From 6am to 6pm, the Met Office has provided a yellow weather warning with strong winds affecting 98 areas of the UK, Scotland and Wales, as well as some more localized rain warnings and warnings in Northern Ireland. It has been introduced.
Forecasters warned that delays in road, rail, air and ferry transport were “highly likely” on Sunday, saying, “Perhaps some bus and train services will be affected, and some travel time will be delayed. It's going to take it,” he warned.
The forecaster added:
“There are probably delays in exposed routes and high-rise vehicles on bridges.”
The Met Office said: “Southwest to southwest winds are expected to increase through Sunday morning, with a peak of 50-60 miles to the morning, and perhaps 70 miles at exposed areas along the Irish coastline. The islands and other areas of the higher landforms.
“Rain is accompanied by strong winds, and is in very poor weather conditions, especially on roads. The winds will then be eased from southwest to northeast of the warning area until the afternoon and evening.”
Forecasters urged their homes to consider collecting torches, batteries, cell phone chargers and other essentials with advice on how to prepare for a blackout.
“When you prepare in advance, people often deal with blackouts. It's easy to do. Consider collecting torches, batteries, cell phone power packs and other essential items.
“If you're on the coast, stay safe and watch out for big waves during the stormy climate. Even from the coast, big broken waves can step in and get out into the sea. Near the cliffs. Be careful if you are walking in. Emergency dogs should call 999 and ask for the Coast Guard.
“Be prepared for fast changing weather warnings. If a weather warning is issued, Met Office recommends staying up to date with weather forecasts in your area.”
