Many of the people we support in dimensions rely on individual independent payments (PIPs) to cover the costs of having a disability. Just because this profit is reduced, these costs will not go away. The expected reduction in PIP can make it even more difficult for people with disabilities to lead independent, normal lives.
Many people can use PIP to help adults social care support and pay fees from local governments, and work part-time.
We welcome £1 billion investments in employment support, but we must recognize that this is designed with people with living experience and that work is not an option for everyone. Those who cannot work should not be left without the necessary financial support from the government.
The statement does not have anything for dimension providers like social care that face a sharp increase in staff costs as a result of employers' national insurance contributions and national living wages.
