Organizers seem to be starting the year by exaggerating its popularity.
Maybe they issued that many tickets, but I don't know why they had to issue them, but even if they did, I'm not sure there were less than 3,000 of them actually there. I am very doubtful.
Still, considering the weather, there was a good turnout, and since it was in the evening, those who participated did a great job.
If you look at the Peace Hall in Halifax, it has a capacity of 5,000 to 6,000 people. Centenary Square is less than half that size.
We need to be realistic and not make meaningless claims.
We're supposed to be trying to give the city a bad name, but I don't think any exaggerated claims will do the trick.
Let's be honest about next year and let the events speak for themselves, rather than the unnecessary hype from organizers and media.
