Years ago, when I was a postman, we would deliver no matter what. Binman used to come to your garden. Now I don't touch it with a barge pole. You are expected to do some of their work. Additionally, collections may be refused or canceled in the event of obstructions or inclement weather. Refusal to collect takes on new meaning. And schools are too often closed in the winter.
Our office is far from full, especially on snow days, and our employees are frustrated about having to come to work.
To make matters worse, the British news media is going to send hysterical reporters somewhere just because it's snowing in January. It's like reporting on a donut with jam.
You need to kick up the rear!
