However, many young drivers seem to ignore the speed limit. I live on Beacon Road, which was famous for cars going up to over 110mph. So the city council installed speed bumps, but regular cars like BMWs, Audis, and Volkswagens still sometimes jump over speed bumps, or slow down on one speed bump and then speed up to the next speed bump. .
The main problem is that car manufacturers keep making new cars more powerful. I have a 998cc car and am happy to stick to the speed limit, although I can probably go faster when passing HGV trucks that go up to 130mph on the highway.
Just read the Telegraph & Argus to get some idea of the speed of these young drivers.
