The Whitby warning means encouraging residents and businesses to act immediately with their “flood plan” ahead of tonight's high tide.
The warning is classified as an “act now” alert, but the warning was issued by Floodline as dangerously high tides and extreme weather conditions were set to be attacked between 4pm and 6:45pm on Sunday, March 30th.
Whitby Coast (Image: North Yorkshire Police) The flood is expected to collide with Whitby Port and surrounding areas such as Quay, Pier Road, New Quay Road, Church Street, Campion Dock and Bagdale Road in Abraham.
The high tide is expected to peak at 5:30pm today.
